    Memory

This project consist of 35 houses in the Fresnos settlement, in the municipality of Boadrilla del Monte, which are situated on two unique plots with beautiful views and oriented on south and southeast. The houses have an area of 300 m2 with garden and a private garage inside a commune closed space with one entrance and luxurious shared areas. Under the gardens and green zones runs a circulation of vehicles that are separated from the inhabitants visually and acoustically, so that they can enjoy peaceful and natural atmosphere.

In the proposal developed for the competition we suggested a single circular road access and five pedestrian accesses for 35 homes, and one longitudinal underground street. Alternatively, we studied a possibility of five entrances for vehicles and pedestrians. Two alternatives were developed, in which the pedestrian network, along with the gardens and the dwellings, is separated visually and acoustically from the buried vehicle circulation.

We considered that it was necessary to separate the habitat from the cars and the street, in order to create a peaceful and natural environment. Firstly, we tried to eliminate or at  least maximally reduce individual accesses to the plots, so that trees and dense vegetation could be planted and so that inner part of the settlement could be isolated and peaceful, and also to avoid the unnecessary ramps that could take a lot of precious area from the settlement.
