Memory
Our mission is to preserve all the good qualities and aspects of the building, which are abundant, while adapting it to its current technical needs.
Accessibility, movement and circulation of people, not only of those who work there on a daily basis but also of the general public should be well protected and include all the necessary elements to insure that it runs smoothly.
We propose to recuperate the original auditorium, designed by the architect Miguel Fisac.
With this restoration, the auditorium will enjoy the natural lighting that it always had, in line with other great meeting rooms of today.
We plan to significantly increase the amount of space allocated for public and open use, as is generally required of important and representative buildings.
To do this, we have created large, public spaces on the ground floor, to be used as the reception area and a reading room, the latter situated where it was in the original plans.
Also in line with the idea of recuperating as much of the original project as possible, we plan to install
a low maintenance, environmentally-friendly, organic roof over a naturally-formed rest area.
